Condensate Management

The Water Resources Act defines the regulations for the use of water resources. The discharge of compressor condensates is prohibited without suitable processing, with waste water containing typically more than 20 mg/l mineral oil into the sewage system. The legislation demands water treatment corresponding, at the very least, to “generally accepted engineering standards”. This means a reduction to max. 20 mg/l for hydrocarbons as a guide parameter for mineral oils. Regionally, these values may be significantly lower.

Disposal of compressor condensates carried out by specialist companies is safe but very expensive. Much simpler and more economical is to process the condensate right at the point where it is generated by the air compressor. The addition of an oil water separator to the compressed air system solves that problem. In addition we are able to supply a range of automatic condensate drains to be installed to air receivers replacing manual drain valves which often are forgotten.
